CEO and founder Maika Le and President and founder Eric Wheelwright created Smart Tech Menu in response to the challenges restaurants faced due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Our founders were out at a dinner meeting. While at dinner, they were confronted with the typical inconveniences of dining out, such as long wait times, low lighting, small print, and incorrect orders. The collection of problems they faced inspired them to address the issues.

The next day Maika contacted Eric and shared her vision of "Smart Tech Menu." She explained to Eric that she wanted to develop a system that would help restaurants decrease customer wait time, address labor shortage issues, improve the dining out experience, and provide a safer environment by minimizing the risk of COVID-19 transmission. In addition to having tremendous benefits for patrons of the restaurants, the system they would ultimately create would have significant financial advantages for restaurants. It would increase a restaurant's overall sales by more than 25% while streamlining the ordering process. It would also offer restaurants an additional revenue stream that, until now, was not available.
